Wading River Rocky Sunset

Here we have a beautiful sunset in Wading River NY. These large rocks are located in an area called Herod Point.  The warm, golden glow dancing across the water and glistening on those large rocks—it's pure coastal magic.

Herod Point (also referenced as “Herods Point”) is a small cape projecting into the Long Island Sound, just north of Wading River. It's a scenic spot, with low elevation and close access to both water and shoreline environments.

Offshore, the adjacent Herod Point Shoal is a rich marine habitat spanning roughly 4.5 miles and supporting a diverse array of fish and shellfish. It’s especially prized by anglers for species like fluke, sea bass, bluefish, and even, in recent years, weakfish.
