About Rod

Rod Richardson – Fine Art Photographer

Photography has been a passion of mine for nearly fifteen years. What began as a way to photograph my youngest daughter as she traveled and competed in volleyball soon grew into a much deeper creative pursuit. Through those weekends on the road, I discovered a love for photography that extended far beyond the gym and eventually led me to explore landscapes, nature, and the world around me through the lens.

After retiring as a Senior Court Officer in New York, I found myself dedicating even more time to photography and pursuing what had become a lifelong passion.

Much of my work is inspired by Long Island's coastlines, farms, waterways, and changing seasons. While landscapes remain my primary focus, my portfolio also includes flowers, wildlife, architecture, black-and-white studies, and special photographic series that tell a deeper story. Whether it's the calm after a storm, the glow of first light, or the character of a weathered structure, I am drawn to moments that evoke a sense of place and emotion.

Each photograph begins with patience, observation, and a vision for the finished piece. My images are professionally produced as archival fine art prints and are available in a variety of formats, including traditional prints, framed artwork, metal, and acrylic presentations.

From capture to final production, I take great care in every step of the process. My goal is simple: to create artwork that brings beauty, inspiration, and a lasting connection to the places and moments that make our world remarkable.

"A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed."

— Ansel Adams
